SOMC Hospital Care

Dear Valued Patients,

Please be advised that as of January 4, 2016 the physicians of Family Medicine Center will no longer be providing inpatient hospital care at Southern Ocean Medical Center. With the increasing amount of regulations and administrative burdens being placed on physicians and medical practices, we feel at this point in time that focusing our efforts on the outpatient/office care of our patients will improve access to see our doctors in a more timely manner. Family Medicine Center will continue to provide our patients with high quality medical care in our Manahawkin and Little Egg Harbor offices. We will continue to have a doctor on call for our practice, available by phone at night and on the weekends when the office is closed, to address any urgent medical needs.

Any patient of our practice requiring admission to the hospital will be admitted to the hospitalist service. The hospitalists are a team of physicians who are present around the clock to care for patients who are admitted to the hospital. They will communicate with our office and records of your hospital stay will be sent to your physician. After discharge, patients will follow up with their physician in our office. We look forward to continuing to care for you at Family Medicine Center and we wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year.
